Who is Nani anyway? (video clips)

Speculation among top Premiership clubs Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Liverpool has been rife on which club will secure the young Portuguese and Sporting Lisbon star Nani.

Nani has had a breakout season in Portugal this year, I have been following his progress for a while now ever since my father tipped me off that Sporting has a group of potential superstars. You’ll see below that Nani is not built for power, but for speed with lots of trickery and finess to boot.

The latest speculation has Tottenham in top spot to secure the winger/striker’s signature, regardless, he may be playing for your club, so here are a couple of video clips with Nani highlights.

I said this on another site a couple of days ago...the guy looks really good - but most of it is right footed!

Forget it and move on unless we are looking to keep Aaron on the left.

I can't believe people actually think this would be a good deal for United. United bought Cristiano Ronaldo for £12m, and suddenly now it's bangin' that they're buying Nani for £18m?

He doesn't even seem all that. At least the video doesn't show any skills or football-brains. Some OK goals there, but considering his opposition, thats really not that impressive.

Quaresma and Anderson at Porto are both much better players. I can't understand why everybody is raving about this guy.

Wanna see a REAL talent, and not a flipfloppin' showpony?

I think if you watched him for 90 minutes a few times you'd understand better why he's so highly rated. He is really hard on defenses and never sits still. He's got great timing and plays within the team well.

wow, i`ll rather have ANderson. Now thats a talent. And Nani is not the solution for our left side probs, since he is right footed.

Inflation?? That doesn't justify Nani's fee. Even if Nani would cost £12m, that's still £4m too much. He's not even close to being the same class as Ronaldo, and obviously doesn't have the same potential. The link he provided to this Anderson-guy was awesome. Nani is just a product of a typical tabloid-news overflow; if you hear the name enough times, you start to think he's good.

Take out the naff showboating after he's scored and the vids would be half as long. Can't stand players who do all those 'signature' celebrations. It's like the footy equivalent of a catchphrase and looks really wanky. Glad Keane stopped his. Reminds me of the childishly cocky character tom cruise played in Color of Money.

Also it's much easier to show skill in lesser leagues. Can't see even a bottom 4 defence giving him that much room. And he's very right footed! Not entirely convinced but then a right footed left winger is better than no left winger and I have learned in general to trust comolli & Jol.

Go on the Spurs!

I'm unsure about Nani. You can't judge a player by a youtube video, in whicch frankly he looks average in. I'm sure you could make a video of Mido or Jenas, that make them look outstandng! So based on that and his price and the hype... I would give him a miss. Wesley Sniedjer please.

If i've ever seen a player more different than Ryan Giggs, it's Nani. U IDIOT. U can't see anything from these clips unless u put them into perspective - Ricardo Rocha was a leading defender in the potuguese league, Hilario a leading keeper!

i would still like to see morten gamst pedersen at the lane i think he will give you more from his crosses and free kicks. Nani i think he looks more like a forward then a left winger but still would like to see what he is like

DON'T BET ON THAT BUDDY, PLUS I THINK YOU ARE ALL MISSING THE POINT, IF FERGIE THINKS HE IS A DECENT PLAYER AND IS YOUNG ENOUGH TO GUIDED, THEN SO BE IT,MAN UTD NEXT YEAR WILL BE A FRIGHTING SIDE TO PLAY, BUT A JOY TO WATCH

Nany is a very good football player, he plays for Manchester United and Portuguese nationality, is a very abil player and is a leader in the field. He has the ability to dribble players without difficulty.
