Barton holding City at ransom
The all out arrogance, petulance, and outright idiocy of it boggles my mind. World class trouble maker Joey Barton is at it again and his move from Manchester City to Newcastle is off until he relents.Joey Barton’s contract with Manchester City has a loyalty payment of 300,000 pounds to be paid out if the club transfers him without an official transfer request. Barton, after his despicable antics seems to think he is entitled to the money, even though his behavior is what initiated the transfer. Technically he’s right, but so are Manchester City since the club is already losing a lot of money in value on the player.
Barton has passed a medical and agreed personal terms at Newcastle but the move will not be rubber stamped until he turns in a transfer request.
Barton was suspended by City near the end of last season following a training ground fight which left Ousmane Dabo hospitalized.
Machester City gave Barton permission to speak to West Ham and Newcastle but officially they never transfer listed him. In a way, I hope the stubborn brute sticks to his guns and sits at home next season wishing he wasn’t who he is. The Premiership is better without enforcers, this isn’t hockey.

He's not holding us to ransom, he's welcome to stay at City...I'm sure there are positions as program sellers (granted, not program sellers who earn 28k a week) for the next three years.
joey barton is a very lucky boy a lot of clubs would of dumped him a long time ago city gave him chance after chance. although a great footballer and apparantly a decent bloke off the pitch he has undoubtedly a self destruct tendancy which will always get him and his club bad publicity. big sam has no chance of curbing his ways hes got a strong personality but unfortunatly its warped,i as a city fan feel upset about his loyalty bonus but lets be honest its just another case of a certain willy mckay screwing our club for what he can get
