Arsenal signing pacifier?

In an attempt to pacify Theirry Henry, Arsenal look interested in bringing France striker David Trezeguet from Juventus to the Emirates Stadium.

Trezeguet and Henry played together at Monaco early in their career under Arsene Wenger, both players have played for Juventus. It appears Arsenal have realized they have squandered endless chances all last season and would improve the side by bringing in a more clinical finishing. It also appears bringing a friend of Henry’s to the club would help settle the rampant speculation surrounding the Arsenal captain. Barcelona and AC Milan have been climbing over each other trying to get the strikers attention and bring him to their respective countries.

Trezeguet, 29, has rejected Juventus’s latest offer and looks set to leave after 7 seasons and 140 goals. It has been suggested that Arsenal can have the Trezeguet for about 4m pounds since he only has a year to go on his current deal.

"There's no possibility of me staying at Juventus. There's no more room for negotiations." - Trezeguet

Trezeguet was apparently angered at the terms of the new offer, calling it ridiculous.
Arsenal have competition for the striker as he is also wanted by French champion Lyon and Valencia.

Whether a move for Trezeguet is to pacify Henry or not, it seems like good business either way. Arsenal need to be more clinical in front of goal next season to move up the table. Trezeguet brings experience and composure to the side as well as lots of experience playing with Henry. The only down side is, at age 29, that he won’t have many years in the tank before he’s over the hill.

I think Arsenal should aim at a younger striker like Fernando Torres even if it means paying a larger transfer fee. If DT is unhappy at Juve then he will be unhappy when his contract expires and is only offered one year contracts because of his age.

it won't be a bad signing at all, everyone is saying that we should sign a younger player... Why? we have Van Persie, Bendtner & Walcott coming up so I think it would be good business to buy experience to work our way back up to where we belong (Top of the league)...

You misunderstand the point, the point is that as a pairing they never work for France. And yes they did reach the final, but that was because they dropped Trezegeut and Played Henry
