McFadden's audacious smash
Against France, Everton striker James McFadden scored the best goal of his career, and an audacious strike which beat France during the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.
You have to give McFadden credit, and the commentator has it just right: there was nothing for him to do except hold the ball up and wait for support. He could have passed left, but again, just 2 men forward against the entire French back line means there was nothing on. But instead he instinctively turns in space and takes a chance at it and pulled off an amazing goal out of nothing:
