Average player leaves Tottenham for Birmingham
Birmingham have agreed to pay Tottenham 6m pounds for Egyptian striker Mido. The distinctly average striker has left permanently when a loan deal was expected. Incredibly, Spurs stand to profit on the sale after signing the striker for 4.5m pounds in 2006.
Don’t hold your breath though. Personal terms have yet to be agreed which could easily break the deal. Should he sign, Mido would be Birmingham’s seventh transfer since winning promotion back to the Premier League.
Birmingham should think twice about this. Mido has fallen out of favor at every club he has been with and has a history of bad temperament and falling out with managers.
He started only seven games and made five further appearances as a substitute last season after a promising start at the club. He is now further down the pecking order after the expensive signing of Darren Bent.
For Birmingham this would be a record signing. It could turn out positively, without any competition for a place; Mido could settle and score goals. He has always been capable but hindered but a mighty high opinion of himself. Maybe a dose of reality will get him back on track.

Im a season ticket holder at spurs.
If mido is £6 million then im definately worth a few mill!
I would have taken anything around 2 million!
good riddance, and why don't you take that ither useless egyption with ya!!!!!
martin jol's blue and white army!!!
Mido is a good player and will do well at Birmingham.
He had a good eighteen months at Spurs and was our main striker when we pushed Arsenal to the last day for 4th place. Last Season due to Injury but mainly down to the form of Berbatov his season didn't really get a chance.
He needed to leave but there are definitely no hard feelings from my end.
Are all Tottenham fans that thick ? Neanderthal man, alive and well in North London! Mido has a fair strike rate and is good in the air. He shows good body strength and a possesses a fair amount of skill. £6 million seems fair value if you compare with Nugent who is unproven at premiership level and went for the same amount. I don't think he would have been sold if he didn't have an ego problem. Steve Bruce knows how to handle such types (Dugarry/Savage and Pennant demonstrate this).
I went to his debut vs Pompey when he scored 2 goals and he was class on loan for spurs. He does have ability and when his mentality is right he could be really effective for Birmingham.
However it is shrewd bussiness by the mighty Spurs. Cant believe they have made a profit but I think this summer the market is all round inflated thanks to the new TV money. Guess you pay the going rate. Should suit both clubs? Maybe more spurs...
Very gifted player. If he's on form there's not many better stikers.

You 'aving a laugh? Are you 'aving a laugh?
Mido was and always will be an extra.
Mido is a donkey i would have paid 6 mil to see the back of him, good riddance!!!
Spurs fan here - we are not all fickle and I for one will wish Mido well at the Brum. £6 million is a gamble and a good bit of business for Spurs. With four world class strikers he was never going to get a look in at Spurs and needed to move on. Mido is good in the air, strong and passionate and when fit and focused can bang goals in for fun. If he is not focused he can be distruptive and a prima donna. Thanks for the 11 goals in 05/06 and good luck!
HES VERY GOOD TO TALK TO.I DONT KNOW HIM THAT WELL AT ALL.BUT HEY I HEARD ALOT OF GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM AND CUM ON HE DID PLAY GOOD GAMES.HOW DO U THINK HE GOT THE NAME EGYPTIAN STRIKER.HE DESERVES WHAT HE GETS WHEN IT OMES TO MONEY.
