Garcia leaves Anfield

Liverpool midfielder Luis Garcia has officially joined Atletico Madrid as the club prepare for the arrival of new striker Fernando Torres.

Garcia has signed a three-year contract, the fee was 4m pounds. While Torres has yet to sign a Liverpool contract, Luis Garcia returns to the club he left four years ago. He left for a season at Barcelona before moving to Liverpool. Garcia will be presented to the media today.

Garcia played a lot early on in his Liverpool tenure, but slowly lost out as new players were signed, and last season spent most of his time out injured. He played a total of 121 games and scored 30 goals.
