Chelsea to offload dead weight

To fund the huge amount of money spent on transfers this off season by Chelsea, the club will sacrifice Khalid Boulharouz. Just kidding, Chelsea hasn’t spent, and Boulharouz is dead weight, an unimpressive signing pushed by Frank Arnesen who should really butt-out of the senior team’s business.

Apparently Sevilla are interested in signing Boulharouz for 3.5m pounds, a fraction of the price paid for him just a season ago. Chelsea’s willingness to accept a substantial loss on Boulahrouz reflects his diminishing status after a poor season. Although he started well, some of his late season displays bordered on shocking.

Mourinho’s lack of faith in the Dutch international was made most apparent when he chose Michael Essien for central defense instead of him. He only started four Premiership matches in 2007 –amazing considering the injury crisis the club suffered in defense.

Brought into Chelsea because he could play different positions in defense, his addition did not provide the depth to the squad that was expected.

Cut your losses now. While Alex lumbering in defense won’t be much better, you don’t want 2 duds at the back. Better hope for healthy players and a new contract for John Terry.
