Anderson permitted

19 year old Brazilian Anderson has been granted a work permit by the British Home Office which will now allow him to play for Manchester United. Anderson joined United earlier in the summer from FC Porto.

There was a scare inside Old Trafford as the first application for the work permit was rejected. The rules stipulate that a player must play in 75% of his home nation’s international matches over the previous two years.

United have won an appeal on the grounds that Anderson’s youth has not allowed him to fulfill the requirement. Anderson made his full international debut for Brazil in their 2-0 Copa America loss to Mexico earlier in the week.
