The season that was: Ronaldo’s two best moments (video clips)

Cristiano Ronaldo was the Premiership’s best player last season by a mile. Here are his 2 finest moments of the season in video: Manchester United against Fulham and against Bolton Wanderers.

In one, Ronaldo is instrumental in a goal that ended up being Wayne Rooney’s. From their own box defending a throw in, Ronaldo slickly cleared the ball to Rooney who passed it back for Ronaldo to run onto. Ronaldo was off to the races as Rooney stayed off to his left. Ronaldo’s run ended outside the Bolton box as he side-footed a pass back to Rooney who calmly chipped it over the keeper’s head. It was one of the most perfect counter attacks you can imagine:

The second was a Ronaldo master goal, and on top of that a game winner against Fulham. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a better video of it, but this goal just dripped class. On 88 minutes, he takes the ball from his own half dummies the right back past another defender near the box and score the goal. It was a seminal moment in his season and was a goal that not a lot of players in the world could come up with.
