Fabianski joins Arsenal (video of player)

Legia Warsaw and Polish international goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has signed for Arsenal. At age 22 he has received 4 international caps and looks to be a long term replacement for Jens Lehmann.

The fee was undisclosed, as was the length of the deal, likely 5 years. In both his seasons at Warsaw, Fabianski was named the Polish league goalkeeper of the year. He was also as member of the Polsih team’s 2006 World Cup bid.

In 2005, Fabianski was signed by Legia Warszawa and competed with Artur Boruc, now with Celtic FC. When Boric left, Fabianski took over the starting role and never relinquished it. He helped Legia win the Polish league championship in the 2006 season.

Have a look at your new keeper here: (sorry about the music, geez, will the folks who compile this learn? Crowd noise folks, its all we want to hear!)

from the looks of the video he looks a compentant keeper. Looks better than almunia from what the video shows. He looks comfortable coming out for crosses and actually catching them and not flapping. Some nice saves too which looks like he knows what hes doing between the sticks. Don't get me wrong almunia has done ok when he's had to come in for lehmann but lehmann has come to the end of his career. Personally it would of been sad in a wierd way to see him go cos he's given a good service to A.F.C but I think Fabianski will give him a run for his money and almunia too. Whats happening to Poom though he's a good keeper too? Looks like we've missed out on Ribery who personally I think is a bit over-rated. Baps has gone back which on one hand "thank god" but on the other he did ok I think considering. Now we've got keeper problems sorted its time for cover @ centre half and up front. If RVP and Henry can keep fit all season we'll do well on all fronts. Denilson looks a star buy he's fitted in perfectly in midfield lets hope to see more of him. Hleb I think should be sold, I don't rate him at all. We've not really replaced Pires who bagged at least 15 goals a season and played brilliantly. Anyway good video find of our new keeper

He has a good size and dexterity for a GK. Can't wait to see him in action for the Arse!
