Fulham have Cameroonian in the wings

Manager Chris Coleman has made plans in the event the move for Luis Boa Morte is made. Newcastle United are in a negotiations deadlock.

The club plans to bid for Sporting Lisbon winger Rodolph Douala. The young Cameroonian was impressive during last season’s campaign and especially in the teams UEFA Cup run.

There has been no formal offer made to Sporting, but that’s about the strongest denial that exists at this point. Whether or when Boa Morte leaves is likely the only thing stopping a move.

Douala is certainly a quality player and would come at an excellent price. Over the course of the season the young winger grew into his role and showed Wright-Philips style quickness.

Fulham should get the situation resolved. Clubs in Italy and Spain will become potential suitors and clubs like Everton will soon start bidding when they see the player’s price is probably right.

For Craven Cottage, Douala is an apt replacement for Luis Boa Morte; maybe its time to compromise with Newcastle.
