Shunsuke Nakamura

Celtic are all over the map looking for players. So far this season they have purchased 4 players and could likely add more.

Apart from pissing off Harry Redknapp there are some interesting possibilities being considered by the team but the most interesting by far to me is Shunsuke Nakamura.

The Japanese international plays in Italy for Reggina. The playmaker was really impressive in the Confederations Cup last month in Germany.

The asking feel is about 3 million euros. That’s a steal. Nakamura has made the deal more complex though, with image rights and his handlers have insisted the club play exhibitions in Tokyo.

Spanish clubs such as Atletico Madrid have expressed interest in the player but Celtic look set. Celtic manager Gordon Strachan is very high on the player. With good reason, he’s good enough to force Hidetoshi Nakata from the playmakers role on the Japanese national team.

As a Celtic Supporter I would relish this appointment. I sincerely hope our new manager will be given the GREEN light to attain this player. It will be absolutely amazing to see this BHOY in the HOOPS!

I read he was replacing Nakata as playmaker so I tuned in to watch Japan and I was impressed.

This guy Nakamura would be a great addition to the Celtic team supporting Petrov, and providing the bullets for the front players. On the merchandising front it raises Celtics profile in the far east, which cant be bad for shirt sales and TV exposure to boot. Sa·yo·na·ra* Rangers for season 05/06 and years to come. "supporting Petrov"?

Nakamura (kinda sounds like McNamara doesn't it?) is a CREATIVE midfield plaqyer. Petrov is about as creative at football as my mother is at cooking - not very.

McGeady Petrov Nakamura Thompson,

midfield for me.

Anonymous said he would have a midfield of McGeady, Petrov, Nakamura, and Thompson.
So where would this leave Neil Lennon who has just been made team captain for the new season?

Oh well, I suppose he could play in goal!

Who ever said Petrov was not creative, your mother's cooking must stink mate. Petrov is an excellent player and probably the most likely player Celtic have with a real
future!
