Arsenal and Real Madrid: the price is 30 million

World famous club team Santos, the great Pele’s first team, has steeply increased the price tag for its newest starlet Robinho.

Robinho has been a sensation this month at the Confederations Cup in Germany. Much to Madrid’s chagrin, Robinho’s price has increased in response.

Smartly, Santos have waited for the competition and have now said that the 15 million euro offer tabled by Madrid was not enough. Robinho looks to have cemented his place in the international side.

I think Robinho is worth more (maybe 25m) . You're getting a player which plays on the most successful international team ever, Brazil. Those are intangibles AC Milan get with Kaka and Inter with Adriano. Robinho will replace Ronaldo with Brazil.

So now I hear Robinho has been linked with Arsenal.

Manager Arsene Wenger indicated a big signing is on the horizon and Robinho’s agent Juan Figer claims that Arsenal have made a substantially better offer than Madrid for the player. We’ll see if this is true. I would not be surprised if it is, considering Arsenal could then sell Reyes to Madrid afterwards.

Robinho is every bit the real thing. He looks like a 9 year old kid on the pitch until he is past you.

In the Cup matches, his quickness and vision opened up lots of space for the attacking formation Brazil wants to play. Arsenal like to play an open style, and Robinho is smooth as silk. He drifts beautifully to the wings and can create with both feet, Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira is gushing praise.

No question a step up from Reyes. Robinho is worth Rooney-like money as he is the same caliber of player. If the Gunners want him, they will have to pay market value.

£30m? dont be silly. He will leave for around £15m. This is santos and they are far from a rich club, they simply cannot demand such a huge fee.

also reyes wont be sold to madrid, weather robinho joins or not.

30 million EUROS

my appologies, the currency wasnt stated, and since we're in britain i assumed it was £'s.

I assume €30m = ~£20m?

Still a bit steep and im not sure i would want us to splash out that much on robinho. He does look sharp and skillfull but he also is a bit of a lightweight and im not sure he could handle our cold winters or the fierce nature of the premiership.

Much more suited to spain and madrid, similar climate and similar play to that of the brazilian league. Throw in a couple of brazilians and his old santos coach now being the madrid manager and i think thats where he will go.

30mill euros, which is above what they want, every club when negotiating if they bid they go below what they expect to pay and if they are selling go above what they want then they meet in the middle, resnoble price would be 15 - 20mill with competition between arsenal and madrid and some others for him

I still think he's abit light weight, 170cm and 9 stones, there will be major doubt whether he will adapt to English physical game.
Yes, he's nimble, agile and possess good dribbling skill, but can he take the beating. Seriously, i higly doubt that.
And saying this guy can replace Ronaldo for Brazil is a big big insult to the phenomenon himself. You can't simply replace Ronaldo, even The Beast himselves having a hard time getting to brazil 1st 11, and he scores like 50 goals in 2 season with SEVILLA.
The problem with Brazil nowadays, everyone trying so hard to become the sole playmaker, you got Ronaldinho, Kaka, and now Robinho try to act like one, I can't see Brazil winning the WC with this sort of formation.

£30M... Are arsenal really interested! Robinho's agent has linked the gooners to a bid so if I was to be cynical then the agent is just trying to get a bigger cut by naming arsenal as the front runners in the hope madrid will up their offer

If they're asking for 30m euro, they'd probably settle for 20-25m, meaning around £14-18m, which is in the range of the reported Arsenal offer.

I was not impressed with against Mexico. With a tight defence he was lightweight.

Robinho's game is all about his superb dribbling skills and confidence in taking on players and beating them. U can do that as long as opponents give u space to run at them. Not in the EPL unfortunately where u often get 10 to 11 opposing players behind the ball. And EPL referees are less charitable when it comes to giving freekicks for fouls. He will be a great player in Spain or Italy where ball players get more protection from referees. Not in England unfortunately.

The Santos coach said that Robinho is going nowhere til after the WC cuz Santos must have a representattive there. Smart business, Robinho has a great time in Germany next year and his price goes even further thru the roof.
It would be a coup if we could get him, a real statement of intent to Chelski, Man U. and the rest. I don't think we need Robinho to get back the Prem. truthfully our defence had a bad trot and that ultimately cost us, that's where we can tighten up, Senderos will be even more of a revelation next year. Where Robinho can be alot more useful is in Europe unlocking those defences, we rely way too much on Titi in the CL.

Are you crazy?

30 million for a player who hasn't even scored 20 goals in a season once?

Reyes is better than Robinho, and just as good as Rooney.

You all know nothing. You're all crazy; babbling away to each other in a paddded cell without any real clue about what is going on. All you do is fuel the crappy rumour mill which laps up your attention and spews out even more speculative nonsense to keep your fevered brows perspiring. Arsene nevere reveals much at all about the detail of his intentions and Arsenal as a club are notoriously good at keeping their business in house - much to the irritation of the hacks. Give yourselves a holiday before next season starts ffs

You got that right....

Henry is the best striker in the world and should have been player of the year. I'm planning to write a call for him to get the award closer to the season starting.

Ferris-

I disagree a bit. The market sets the value. Real Madrid paid 25 m euros last year for for defender Walter Samuel.

I guess in dollars its alot of money, but in the US, transfer fees are a new concept. In US pro sports, the trade of players is favored.

Robinho is being extremely over-rated by some. I wonder how many times they have actually seen him play? Having seen both Robinho and Jose Antonio Reyes play many times, Reyes is the better player without a doubt.

Robinho has potential but is far from the finished article, I think he will flop at Real Madrid, because that's where he is heading. Fernando Torres of Julio Baptista would be far more worthwhile signings for the Gunners.

robinho has his heart set on madrid, and if his heart is with madrid, he can piss off and play with declining superstars. arsenal have got the best collection of young players in the world and if he doesn't want to play in a team that will very soon dominate, thats his ignorant decision.
