Arsenal to take depressed Brazillian on loan?

The saga of 25-year-old Brazilian international Adriano has been a nightmare of his own making for the past 2 years and Arsenal could be set to offer him a reprieve from Italy's Inter Milan and take him on loan to the Emirates.

Adriano, who was once touted as a 50m pound striker has seen his stock plummet to unheard of levels and has made just four league appearances for Inter this season.

Adriano claims to suffer from depression and is currently in Brazil for treatment. He's not going to be back until January and the rumor has it Inter will invite loan offers to offload the troubled striker.

While some players invite some sympathy, Adriano does not from me. Always there for the party, he has put his focus on football aside and let girlfriends, drink and friends steer him away from what could cure his depression: some goals.

Adriano would be eligible for the Champions League if Arsenal were to make a deal, rumor has it that midfielder Gilberto Silva may be off to Inter.

Careful Arsene. Don't disrupt the flow. Buy Agbonlahor instead.

15 million pounds for an unproven 21 year old - Only Tottenham and ManUre would pay that kind of money for someone who's far from being the finished article!!!
As for Adriano - Arsene always buys players with the right attitude. (bit of a question mark over his decisions in that regard, with Anelka and Gallas, but one he got rid of and the other is changing) Can't see him risking a party boy for a consummate professional like Gilberto.

I wouldn't mind seeing Agbonlahor join the club, as he is a great talent, and will probably be better than Adebayor in the near future.

Adriano though... I can't see him making it at Arsenal with his poor work ethic and partying tendencies.

Hopefully we can pick up a striker to takeover from van Persie when he's injured and partner the Dutchman when he isn't, but hopefully that striker won't be the party boy Adriano.

The only way we should be going near another striker is if we're sending one out in the other direction it's a simple as that. Let's face it we're struggling to keep Bentdner and Eduardo genuinely happy, let alone if another striker joined us. I'm not saying certain strikers wouldn't work wonders in the Arsenal team, but it's pretty stupid to assume that we can just buy, buy, buy without unsettling what we already have. I mean as strikers we have Adebayor, van Persie, Eduardo, Bentdner, Walcott, Rui Fonte, Vela, (probably Mputu if he passes his trial), and other potential future players include Simpson and the guy who's name I can't remember who's also English. My point is that it's immature to assume we can have 5 strikers and keep them happy, I mean RvP HAS to play, Adebayor always plays and when either is injured Wenger usually uses a 4-5-1. Which says it all really, we already have more strikers than we can give a game to.

sick and tired of seeing the word 'unproven'. it can only come from the ignorant.
anyway there are many who should drill a deep register into the brain that Arsenal DO NOT NEED TO BUY ANYMORE.
