The dirtiest player in Europe

If there were ever a contest for the dirtiest player in Europe, it’s Marco Materazzi. When he played for one season at Everton he was red carded 3 times. From a provocation of Zinedine Zidane at the World Cup to the savage elbow he delivered to Juan Pablo Sorin during the Champions League against Villareal to moment after ugly moment in the Serie A, he’s a brute of a defender with no consideration for anyone’s body. Inter Milan should be ashamed to have him on their books.

Does this guy belong on a pitch?

And how about these gems from Seria A:

What a complete pile of nonsense. Materazzi is and always will be a legend. Why should Inter be ashamed to have a man who basically won Italy the world cup final playing for them? I am honoured to have such a great player playing for us. Granted he makes a few rash challenges, but that's just because he's a player with great determination.

Matrix is WORLD CLASS. I can guarentee you that every single EPL would want this guy marshalling their back four.

Just cause your league is poor, and your national team is a laughing stock, don't torment the public with this nonsense. Obviously he is tough tackling, but the man has world class skill, that can't be disputed

Materazzi is a player I love to hate during club play, I was actually hoping he wouldn't play for italy as I new he'd be a story in the world cup. As far as the wc goes though lets be fair, Zidane was a bigger maniac in that game than I've ever seen Materazzi be and don't be wimps, "provication"? are you kidding? what kind of retard statement is that. He did his job and zidane and most players have heard a lot worse if they play as long as he has. Bottom line is Zidane lost it. He's recieved 17 red in his career, 15 of which have been straight reds. What's that mean smart guy?....provication...what a joke. You ever hear how girl's teams talk to each other?

Whatever Dude. Out of nowhere comes this stale tirade? A little late aren't you? What's odd is that he seemed destined for the thug monicker for the remainder of his career when all of a sudden he played like Beckenbauer in the WC and enjoyed his greatest season this year for Inter. So what's the big deal? Gattuso is wayyyyyy nastier but then again you are probably blind.

Gattuso doesnt intentionally kick guys in the nuts or elbow them out of a match. I agree, Materazzi is a dirty player regardless of how he performed in the world cup. Its like saying a horrible dictator is ok because he gave once to the poor. Get your brains on. Watch Materazzi throughout a whole game and you will see him regularly poke, prod, stamp, push and generally intimidate opponents.

Fool! Do not judge a man by a few occurences, look at the likes of Roy Keane and many other UK players before you point fingers abroad. Materazzi won Italy the world cup: Had Zidane sent off, scored a goal, and scored a penalty. He also won Inter the scudetto scoring 10 (YES 10!) league goals and the winning goal at the end of the season. Despite his brutish nature, he is an absolute legend in defence. You wish that any defender in your crappy league came remotely close to his form.

You look the fool, my friend:

Roy Keane ends a career

You should read the blog before you start accusing me of favoring one nation/league over another

you know, i think this reflects VERY badly on the culture of his host nation, that the utter pig of a human being didn't even show any remorse for his actions (only later obviously). What sort of people are you breeding over there?

Materazzi does the wrong sport - boxing or kickboxing should be much better for this "DUMBASS".

PS: Zinedine for President :)
