Celtic to get lucky after all

KeepTheFaith.com, a website which follows Celtic FC reports that Shunsuke Nakamura is going to sign for the club.

When a player gets quoted that way, it’s usually a sign that a deal is being prepared. I’m pretty confident that Nakamura is going to join Celtic who really need his playmaking as a host of preseason draws demonstrate.

This on again, off again saga has started to drag on too long. If a player is too hesitant, what does it say?

If the signing doesn't happen in a day or so I think its time to forget about it. Signing hesitant players often goes badly.

I don't think "hesitancy" is the issue - high profile players like Nakamura have a lot of details in their contract negotiations to be ironed out, which takes some time - most notably "image rights".

It's very rare in football these days that any player, particulary if he's an important figure in the world game, can be signed, sealed and delivered within a matter of days.

I'd say the player is hoping a Spanish team make a firm offer, Spain or Scotland? mmm!!!

This one might take a bit longer yet.

I think if Nakamura goes to Celtic he will be joining a much bigger club than his present one. It is widely accepted that Celtic are the biggest supported Scottish club and one of the 2 biggest supported teams in the British Isles. See you on Monday Shunsuke
