Arsenal drubbed, Adebayor head butts teammate (video)

Things got ugly last night. Arsenal were throttled 5-1 by Tottenham Hotspur in the Carling Cup. Emmanuel Adebayor head butted his teammate Nicklas Bendtner. Not good.

The Togolese international striker came on as a substitute for Theo Walcott in the second half with the side already 4-0 down. Adebayor seemed completely out of control and couldn’t handle the situation.

The incident happened as the pair were in the box waiting for Cesc Fabregas to take a free kick in the 80th minute. Adebayor lashed out at Bendtner and eventually head butted him, leaving him with a cut on his nose and triggering a frenzy of team mates stepping in to separate the pair. William Gallas eventually restored order but Adebayor seemed to remain a bit crazed as seconds later he should have been sent off for a hand in the face, which would have been a second bookable offense.

Arsene Wenger claimed he didn’t see it.

Referee Howard Webb took no action against the players but they could still face disciplinary action as the video can be studied by an FA panel.

Spurs took the matchup 6-2 on aggregate and have booked their place in the final at Wembley, well deserved as the fracas between Arsenal players overshadowed their excellent performance.

The rest of the game was tense between the Arsenal strikers. Mathieu Flamini was seen screaming from the bench at Adebayor to calm down and Arsenal's team staff had to hold Adebayor back before entering the of the tunnel to avoid further confrontation.

Unfortunately the video does not show everything, but watching the second half, it’s pretty clear Adebayor is frustrated with Bendtner’s effort culminating in the first scene where he is doggedly chasing the ball, then a moment later, Bendtner fails to pass it to Adebayor and tries to go it alone. This seems to really anger Adebayor, as you can see when he marches away and glares back at Bendtner.

Then the whistle goes and on the top right he dashes over to Bendtner. The incident continues in the top right as the close up of the placement of the ball for the free kick takes place. Bendtner is then doubled over.

Seconds later, Adebayor should have been red carded as the hand to the face looked pretty deliberate to me:

Hand (gloved) in the face that looked accidental to me (a Spurs fan) and 2 frustrated players having a go at each other. And you want an FA enquiry? Get a life mate!

YUP

For the Spoors its like banging a hooker, they can look down for 3 minutes and say 'wow what a hottie' but they know its just for a while

For us Gunners we know we go home to a hottie wife every night

You can pretend but you COY-farts know last night was just a one night stand

This is from a neutral perspective (QPR)

Should an Arsenal fan try and brush off last night as Spurs beating their 'kids', 'reserves' it is interesting to note:

1) The average age of the gooners 14 players used was 22.8, for spurs 25.8. So yes they were a little younger.

2) The goon starting XI cost £51m to Spurs £39m. including the 3 subs used this becomes £62m arse to £53m spurs.

3) The 14 players used by spurs have started 279 games between them this season, the gooners 14 have started 214 between them.

4) There were 11 players out of the 14 for Arsenal who have full international caps. Spurs had only 10.

5) The total caps held by the 14 goons is 261 (hardly kids eh!)

6) 2 players for the goons have won the world cup, thats pretty good for experience.

So is this indicative of the fact that perhaps the Arsenal youth team is actually a media construction?
On the other hand, pretty much any side Arsenal put out is full of experience, but were embarassed by Tottenham last night.

Ive been to several derbies at the lane over the years and always been dissapointed at Spurs loosing. However Ive often come away thinking Arsenal were the better team. Henry was hated, but we had to admit he was a fantastic player. However, last night the Spurs demolished an EXPERIENCED arsenal team (see QPR fans stats above) with a brand of Ramos football which I can only compare to err Seville of last season.....

Its finally time Goons (and your ungracious scum of a manager) to admit you lost to the better team.... and that Spurs have a manager that might just be able to cause a few problems for the top four in years to come....

I seem to remember a quote from Wenger a few weeks ago where he was asked a question about his "B Team" or "2nd Squad" and he began his response with something like "First of all, I have no B Team. I always put out the players I think are best for that specific game". Spurs were obviously a better team last night but it doesn't mean they are the better team. Arsenal fans shouldn't be using the excuse that it was their reserves or B team though because that is just demeaning the players that played in the match. There's nothing worse than a sore loser who makes excuses for why they lost at the expense of the team.

Oh for God's sake. Spurs fans really are pathetic, they beat us once in a blue moon, and act like they've won the Champions League? On top of this, they result to insulting our manager, both racially and physically, which is rich seeing as Ramos is Spanish, and has a huge mole.

Let's be frank, Arsenal are lightyears ahead of Spurs, and the Arsenal vs. Spurs matches in the Premiership prove this, and will continue to do so, simply because of the fact that you are playing our first team. The fact of the matter is, you've played the Arsenal first team twice this season, and lost on both occasions.

End of discussion.
