Tottenham close to left sided midfielder

Portsmouth left midfielder Matt Taylor, scorer of 9 goals last season appears ready to boyhood favorites Tottenham.

Spurs boss Martin Jol apparently seems set to fix his left sided problems with the 25 year old who often plays left back. Portsmouth are apparently open to a deal, but the fans may not like it too much as Taylor is a crowd favorite and a solid player at that. Just the other day I posted his two incredible 45 yard goals, worth a look.

Taylor is a former England under-21 and is valued at about 5m pounds. Tottenham have realized in the early season just how big a hole they have on the left and must quickly move to remedy the situation. Even though Young-Pyo and Gareth Bale are health again, Tottenham are weak in this area and should definitely move for Taylor.

Portsmouth are looking to put together funds to but Nicolas Anelka from Bolton and appear ready to make some sacrifices to get their man.

cant wait to see Taylor in a spurs shirt. Not my first choice but rather him (a left footed and left sided plaer) than sticing yet another central midfielder on the left.

Defo not my first choice, i can think of 15-20 other players i would rather fill in our left wing role. probably more if i tried.

But its better then having steed or any other spurs midfielder out on left wing right now.... just wish we could sell them jenas as part exchange and get rid of that useless cunt

Will people please get of Jenas' back. He was great on saturday, I know it was only against Derby but give the guy some credit he certainly doesn't deserve that!

There is only one punt round here and its you. you fucking mug. People like you are why we are called fickle. Jenas was quality Saturday, and if we supported him he could turn into a world class player, but getting on his back won’t help him. He is still young. Wish you and all the other fickle fans, would just f9ck off and follow the Russians! In Jol we trust. COYS

people need to lay off jenas. even at the derby game there were still the usual numpties in the north stand slagging him and saying that jol should sub him off.

it seems that people forget how he played last season and also how good he was in his final year at newcastle....instead they judge his footballing ability due to a few rumours circling the internet about his PRIVATE life.

Jenas will never be world class. He shows glimpses of what he can do against the likes of Derby but last season in all of the big games

i.e. Arsenal (carling cup)
Seville & Chelsea the guy was shocking.

We are playing Utd this weekend and i will put money on him being as ineffective as he normally is against the bigger teams.
