Tottenham closing in on central defender

Tottenham are in advanced stages of negotiations for France Under-21 central defender Younes Kaboul from Auxerre in France.

The 21 year old Kaboul impressed in the French top flight last season and is valued by Auxerre at 8m pounds. Auxerre have already rejected 6m pound offers from Portsmouth and Inter Milan during last season’s January transfer window. Kaboul is widely considered Auxerre’s best prospect for the future as he climbs towards a place in the French senior team. Signing for Tottenham may just give him the experience and gravitas he needs to claim a spot.
Auxerre vice-president Gerard Bourgoin has been quoted as saying:

"There are very serious discussions with Tottenham but they are not finalised yet”

Kaboul is an imposing defender at 190cm tall. He’s agile and adpet and could seriously challenge from day 1 for a starting palace. He’s very polished for his age.

he's not the u21 captain though as it has been said that is Yassin Moutaouakil actually who has just signed for charlton according to wikipedia
